grey avalon sun
'Grey avalon sun' was made during the summer of 2005 in the Grotto. The famous 'lost weekend' record found kaiserbilly teetering on an emotional edge. The full, lush sounds were actually the result of a stripped-down recording setup featuring the newly-developed kaiserbilly delay system, synthesizers, and no guitar. This allowed for increased attention to detail in both recording and mixing, and spurred a creative outpouring. So much material was gathered that this was nearly a double album. An eleventh-hour track-purge begat the slimmer (73min) single cd. The remaining tracks were collected as 'archaic machinery,' a remainders ep.
gone (long days)
silk road / información / new routes to avalon
round stones beneath the earth (that reflect the sun)
new morning sun
evening reach
the red flag flutters in the grey sky
